National Drill Competition 2009 - H.M.S. Raleigh
Swansea came 2nd overall in the Guard Competition at National level, achieving the following awards
- Runner up overall Guard
- Runner up Best Guard Commander
- WINNER best dressed Guard.
This was only the 2nd time in history a Guard from Wales had made it through to the national competition.
Winning BEST DRESSED GUARD from across all the UK was a significant achievement - and the first NATIONAL trophy won by the unit for many years.
As the best Guard in the South West Area, the team will now be offerred the chance participate at the National Trafalgar Day Parade in London during October 2009.
